Both the four-door Kia Spectra and five-door Spectra5 hatchback deliver solid gas mileage figures, with highway ratings cracking the magic 30 mile per gallon (MPG) highway mark. Kia’s known to offer a high value for the dollar ratio, and the compact Spectra series is no exception. A five-star crash rating from the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Kia’s 10 year/100,000 warranty seal the deal.
The top-of-the-line Spectra5 SX includes a sport-tuned suspension, spoilers, fog lights, and 16-inch alloy wheels … for sport-minded drivers on a budget.
Both the 2008 Kia Spectra and Spectra5 are fitted with a 2.0 liter DOHC four cylinder engine, producing 138 horsepower (HP) and 136 foot pounds of torque. The Spectra and Spectra5 can be equipped with a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive or an electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

Note: the EPA tweaked their testing procedure, starting with the 2008 model year, with the end result being that the 2008 MPG estimates are now lower than previous years. As always, YMMV.
I clunked my 1998 f-150 v8 2wd pickup which was never used for work. Pleasure driving only.
I own a KIA SPECTRA and it is much better than the ford, which was hard to park because it is so big.
Also the gas mileage is great.
no more trucks.
I have a Kia Spectra after owning a 1998 Ford Taurus. I love the KIA. It is so good on gas. I can make it back and forth to work all week on a tank of gas. So much easier on my pocket than it was with the Ford.
I have the 05 spectra ex. Idle control valve went, rpm’s slight high soo kills gas at idle but with lucus gas mil. booster I get 38 mpg on highways From N.Y. to F.L. with that booster I spent only $145.00 in gas this year.
Easy car to care for… Just hope your not in the split for the production year for rear break calipers! $$ no aftermarket ones yet.
