With auto manufacturer and supplier exhibits spread throughout Detroit’s cavernous Cobo Hall, finding the most efficient route through the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) can be a daunting task. If you’ve ever wished you had an app on your smartphone to provide navigation within the winding aisles of a gigantic car show, your prayers have been answered.
Enter ZF AutoShowMe!
The ZF AutoShowMe App runs on iOS and Android devices. ZF is providing the app free of charge via Google Play and the iPhone App Store. Download ZF AutoShowMe for NAIAS 2014 and you’ll chart a course to auto show nirvana.
With ZF AutoShowMe, you can define your own custom route to navigate the show floor or choose the ZF Star Walk route to visit auto manufacturers that have integrated ZF technology in their product line. The Star Walk is gamified … answer a handful of questions along the route to win an instant prize.
The app provides an automotive news and motorsport feed, in addition to the show floor navigation and cool augmented reality display.
ZF is a giant automotive supplier, with 75,000 employees worldwide and sales of over $17.4B (EUR) in 2012. Although they’re not a household name here in the States, ZF technology is found in a growing number of vehicles, including Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda, Porsche, and Toyota.
The company employs over 6,800 in North America with a new transmission plant in Gray Court, South Carolina and a NA Headquarters and Technical Center in Northville, Michigan. ZF’s making a huge splash with their state-of-the-art eight-speed automatic transmissions, as found in the new Chryslers and elsewhere. More speeds = better fuel economy!
Stay tuned to MPGomatic.com for more coverage on ZF technology in the coming weeks. We have a plant visit on the schedule …
