How Low Will Gas Go?

The recent drop in crude oil prices has driven the cost of gasoline down to remarkably low levels across America. It’s a whole new era, with our country suddenly awash in relatively cheap oil. This couldn’t come at a better time for many families, with all that newly liberated cash finding its way into the … Read more

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Conquers the Mountain

Have you ever dreamed about climbing a ski mountain in a Jeep? I know I have. The thought of scaling peaks in a 4×4 has crossed my mind countlessly over the years while riding on the chairlift. So when BF Goodrich asked if I might be interested in a hands-on demo of their their brand new All-Terrain T/A KO2s at Hunter Mountain on a tricked out Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I jumped on the opportunity.

This was not an ordinary media junket. I didn’t need to get on a plane, dress up, or sit through a slide presentation. How Much is My Junk Car Worth?

If you’ve never had the need to get rid of a junk car, count yourself lucky. Dumping a clunker can be a real hassle. The trick is to minimize your financial loss without spending a huge amount of time, effort and expense. I’ve had to unload more than a few junkers over the years and it’s never been fun.

If they weren’t making a pile of money off the transactions, they wouldn’t be able to drop so much on advertising. For WeBuyAnyCar and similar firms, junk cars can be gold.

Ain’t Fuelin’ Update: Slambo Takes a Ride

Things are rolling along, but this first Honda Civic HX build is taking me way longer than I expected. Needless to say, I’m immensely grateful to be able to chase this story.

Valvoline sent a crew to shoot a day-in-the-life with me a few weeks back. They did an awesome job of capturing what drives me every day. We took a nice long ride in Slambo, heading out from Rancho Indebto all the way down through the Pinelands to Tuckerton, one of the towns on the Jersey Shore that was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.

How Much Do You Spend on Gas Each Month?

Do you keep track of much you spend on gasoline every month?

What would you do with a spare twenty, fifty, or hundred dollars?

Making some small changes can save a nice chunk of cash over time. The biggest change, of course, is switching from a gas sucking pig into something that’s more fuel efficient. But if you need to have a big truck or SUV, you need to have it. No arguments here. Everyone in America should have the choice of what they drive.

I’m not advocating that you drive like grandma, or that you drive something that’s slow as a slug or that looks like a piece of cheese. I’m just saying that you CAN save a buck by adding up some incremental changes. Every dollar that isn’t spent on gas is one that can be spent somewhere else.

It’s all about strategy and style …
