While it’s the manual five-speed 500 that tops the Fiat MPG charts, it’s the 500 Abarth (pictured above) that’ll get the blood pumping through your veins. The five-speed 500 is rated at 31 city / 40 highway / 34 combined miles per gallon. Although the Abarth is a good bit more thirsty at 28 / 34 / 31 it produces 160 horsepower (HP) and 170 foot-pounds of torque from its 1.4-liter turbocharged inline four cylinder MulitAir engine. By comparison, the standard Cinquecento produces a modest 101 horsepower and 98 foot pounds of torque. All Fiat 500s require premium fuel.
