The Jeep Patriot shares its platform with the Compass, but despite its more boxy design, lands similar fuel economy ratings. A host of drivetrain configurations are available, including a manual transmission with either front- or four-wheel-drive. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) has been (thankfully!) dropped in favor of a traditional six-speed automatic for 2014.
