2013 Chevrolet Equinox
Starting MSRP: $24,360
The Chevy Equinox is a solid little crossover, but the fuel economy numbers should be taken with a grain of salt. While the 2.4-liter four cylinder front-wheel-drive Equinox is rated at a very respectable 22 city, 26 combined, 32 highway, the numbers go south when you jump into an all-wheel-drive (AWD) V6, with the combined rating dipping below 20 MPG. The V6’s hidden advantage? It’s FlexFuel capable, which can be a significant advantage in parts of the country where Ethanol is abundant and inexpensive.
